What is SharePoint?

Microsoft SharePoint is an online collaboration and document management platform. Each department within RSG has a site which they share files, just like a shared folder.

  1. Document Management
    • Upload, store, and organize documents in libraries.
    • Version control keeps track of changes to documents.
    • Co-authoring allows multiple users to edit documents simultaneously.
  2. Team Sites
    • A dedicated space for a team to share files, calendars, tasks, and news.
    • Please request via ITSupport@rsg.ltd or redsnappergroup.co.uk/help.
  3. Lists and Libraries
    • Lists: Track data like tasks, contacts, or issues similar to Excel.
    • Libraries: Store and manage documents and other files.
  4. Permissions and Access Control
    • Share documents securely inside your organization.
    • All external request must be made via ITSupport@rsg.ltd.
  5. Integration with Microsoft 365
    • Works seamlessly with Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Use Power Automate for workflows and Power BI for reports.
  6. Search Functionality
    • Powerful built-in search to quickly find documents, people, or pages.


Getting Started

1. Access SharePoint


2. Create a Site


3. Upload Documents

  • Go to the Document Library.
  • Navigate to the location or folder.
  • Drag and drop files, or click “Upload”.


4. Share and Collaborate

  • Select a file or folder > Click “Share”.
  • Choose to send a link or invite people directly.
  • External sharing must be requested via ITSupport@rsg.ltd.


5. Create a List or Library

  • Use folders to keep documents organized.
  • Always check before moving or deleting files.
  • Check the homepage for news and updates.
